Monday, February 25, 2013 at 2:57PM The Hillcrest girls basketball team fell to Verndale on Thursday night 64-37 at the Student Activities Center at Hillcrest Lutheran Academy in Fergus Falls. The Pirates shot 44% (27/61) from the field and came up with 19 steals in the contest. They also held a 32-19 edge on the boards. Verndale led 39-20 at halftime and outscored the lady Comets 25-18 over the final eighteen minutes.

Monday, February 25, 2013 at 2:54PM The Brandon-Evansville Chargers Boys Basketball Team rallied from a 28-19 halftime deficit to defeat the Hillcrest Lutheran Academy Comets 54-47.
The Chargers benefited from a balanced scoring attack. Three players were in double figures led by John Haseman's 21 points. Patrick Schaffer added a career high 18. Blake Satterlie made four 3 pointers for 12 points. Billie Juul and Schaffer each dished out 4 assists. Haseman grabbed half of the Chargers 20 rebounds. The Chargers shot 49% (19/39) from the field and 55% (11/20) from the free throw line.
