    Comet Boys Win in Glenwood

    The Hillcrest boys basketball team posted a 63-54 win over Minnewaska Area in Glenwood on Thursday night.  The Comets opened up a 34-21 lead after an impressive first half.

    Hillcrest Girls Fall at Home

    The Hillcrest girls basketball team fell to Verndale on Thursday night 64-37 at the Student Activities Center at Hillcrest Lutheran Academy in Fergus Falls.  The Pirates shot 44% (27/61) from the field and came up with 19 steals in the contest.  They also held a 32-19 edge on the boards.  Verndale led 39-20 at halftime and outscored the lady Comets 25-18 over the final eighteen minutes.

    Comet Boys Top Cowboys 

    The Hillcrest boys basketball team hosted Breckenridge on Tuesday night and placed four players in double figures on the way to a 71-57 non-conference victory over the Cowboys.

    Chargers Come From Behind to Beat Comets

    The Brandon-Evansville Chargers Boys Basketball Team rallied from a 28-19 halftime deficit to defeat the Hillcrest Lutheran Academy Comets 54-47.

    The Chargers benefited from a balanced scoring attack.  Three players were in double figures led by John Haseman's 21 points.  Patrick Schaffer added a career high 18.  Blake Satterlie made four 3 pointers for 12 points.  Billie Juul and Schaffer each dished out 4 assists.  Haseman grabbed half of the Chargers 20 rebounds.  The Chargers shot 49% (19/39) from the field and 55% (11/20) from the free throw line.

    Owls Defeat Lady Comets

    The Hancock Owls paid a visit to Fergus Falls on Valentines Day night where they recorded a 62-48 non-conference girls basketball victory over the Hillcrest Comets.
     
    Hancock shot a blistering 48% (27/56) from the field with senior Courtney Greinerscoring 23 points on 10-of-14 shooting.  She completed her double-double by pulling down 15 rebounds.  Greiner also blocked 3 shots and had 3 steals.  Freshman Lexi Steege scored 21 points on 9-of-15 shooting and came up with a team high 4 steals.  Junior Sami Schmidgall scored 9 points and dished out a team leading 4 assists.
