The Hillcrest/Pelican Rapids Comet Boys Soccer Team defeated the Crookston Pirates by the score of 8-0, Tuesday, in Crookston. Four goals by Knut Saebo led the team to victory!
Knut scored the first goal, five minute into the contest, with a blast to the top right corner following a throw in from Seongwon Choi. Three minutes later, Knut scored his second goal, following an attack up the left sideline. Seongwon Choi took a clearing pass from the defense and quickly pushed the ball ahead to Morten Reksten. Morten crossed the ball to the right far post where Knut knocked it into the back of the net with a one touch shot. Morten Reksten scored one minute later off a 32 yard free kick. Fourteen minutes into the half, Knut Saeob got an assist with a cross from the right side to the far post where Seongwon Choi knocked it in for a goal. Two minutes later, Tae Gyu Park, attacked up the middle and laid out a beautiful pass to Soo Bin Kim, who scored with a driving shot. One minute later (17 minutes into the half), Josh Wolderich scored an unassisted goal, when he picked up a loose ball, following a Morten Reksten corner kick, and drove it into the back of the net, ending all first half scoring with the Comets up 6-0. Knut Saebo scored his third goal just 15 seconds into the second half assisted by Morten Reksten…and his fourth goal of the contest two minutes later, again assisted by Reksten, ending all scoring with Comets up 8-0.
The Comets launched 27 shots on net while, Junior Comet goal keeper, Taylor Isaac, turned away five shots on net for the shutout victory. The Comets saw strong efforts on the field from Asmond Rong, Yung Hak Jang, Ahmed Hassan, and Hector Lemus.
The Comets take on Walker-Hackensack-Akeley on Thursday at home in a double header with the Ladies.
