Rockets Beat Comets for Homecoming Win
Friday, October 7, 2011 at 2:24PM The Underwood Rockets won their homecoming football game on Friday night, beating the Hillcrest Comets 34-7. Underwood ran for 252 yards on 60 rushing attempts and held Hillcrest to 191 yards of total offense.
Kyle Jensen scored the first points of the game on a seven yard run with 6:51 to play in the opening quarter. Hillcrest took a 7-6 lead on a two yard run by Mark Undseth and an extra point kick with 1:25 left in the quarter.
The Rockets regained the lead on an eight yard TD run by Allen Peyerl with 10:24 left in the first half, taking a 12-7 lead at halftime. They increased their lead to 18-7 on a one yard run by Jensen in the third quarter. Another one yard run by Jensen less than two minutes into the fourth quarter, followed by a two point conversion run by Jensen, gave the Rockets a 26-7 lead.
