At
Hillcrest, youll be surrounded by
people
who care. There are people who are ready and
waiting to talk with you, pray with you
providing advice on everything from laundry and
clean rooms to friendships and the future...
Hillcrest resident halls usually have 2 to 3
students per room with a single and/or bunk bed,
dresser, desk and chair for each student. The
girls residence is the top two floors of "the Old
Castle". The boys live down the hill from the
main building with two floors of dormitory rooms.
Each resident hall has cooking facilities, TV
lounges, phones (using phone cards for long
distance calls), coin operated laundry facilities
and several computers for student use. Meals are
served in the lower level of the Castle. The gym
in the Castle is frequently used by the students
and the Student Activity Center, which houses the
new gym and the weight room, will have scheduled
open hours.
The Stu has Christian
Hit Radio via satellite and will now be the Campus
Ministry Office. Wayne Stender, head of Campus
Ministries, makes a great cup of coffee as well as
some specialty coffee drinks which will be
available.
Our Resident Life Staff
seeks to provide a safe, nurturing dormitory
experience for each student. They feel called by
the Lord to nurture and care deeply for each
student. Each dorm establishes "Family Groups"
early the year, led by the RLS. Together the
"Family Groups" form bonds by enjoying special
activities together, doing dorm jobs, going out to
eat and weekly Bible studies. Last spring when the
departing students were asked about a favorite
memory, Family Group time was top of the list!!
The friendship bonds that
form at Hillcrest are long-lasting. The same
friends who share your living space, your popcorn,
your shampoo, your laughter and tears share Christ
as well.
The dorms are available
for those who are attending Hillcrest in grades
10-12.
