Welcome Parents!
You are the key ingredient to helping us with your child's
future. We hope to assist you with helpful information
on this page.
Most colleges
require the writing portion of the ACT and SAT for
admission in Fall 2008. Please check with schools of interest to
verify their requirements.
We
now offer the SAT exam on our campus for 3/1/08. Our test center number is 24143. The
Hillcrest school code is 240-830.
If your child
is a senior, you need to know that colleges and
universities begin reviewing student scholarship applications for the
2008/09 freshman class in September, 2007. Ask your child if they've
sent in their college admission application and when
accepted scholarship application. Scholarship
opportunities will be found on the "College Scholarship"
page.
Scholarships offered by the
college/university should be
applied for immediately upon acceptance by the college or
university. Some schools distribute money on a first
come, first served basis.
Current
Information
ACT
registration deadline is 1/4/08 for the 2/9/08 test.
SAT registration deadline is
12/26/07 for the 1/26/08 test.
Register online at
www.act.org or
www.collegeboard.com or pick up an application in the Guidance
office.
Further info is on the "Notes
for Juniors" page under Guidance Office. Now is an
important time to be talking with your child about their
further education opportunities after high school.
Encourage them to take the ACT (Apr & Jun) or SAT (May &
Jun) college entrance exam
second semester. Visiting colleges is an important
step in the process. The summer before senior year is
an excellent time to visit prospective colleges.
If your child is either a
sophomore or freshman, the best thing they can do
is to be studying hard in order to earn the highest grades
they are capable of. Academic performance is the most
important factor colleges consider.
This summer
visit a college. Private colleges in Minnesota offer
application fee waivers if you visit in June. Contact
