The Hillcrest girls lost their opening volleyball match in three sets on Tuesday night, falling to Hancock (23-25, 16-25, 16-25).

“The girls opened with an awesome first set,” said Head Coach Desicca Veum. “It could easily have been a win for us. I think losing that switched the momentum and we really struggled getting it back in set two. Lots of mistakes on our side in set two, we couldn't get into our offense, and had trouble with serves. The third set started out much more competitively but we really struggled defending Kassandra Algarate, their outside hitter. She did a nice job of placing the ball on the floor where we were not defending even when we made adjustments all night.”
