Matthew McGuire






Matthew’s family moved to Fergus Falls in 1973 from the Chicago, IL area. Matt graduated from FFHS in 1981. Matt served in the U.S. Army as a military police officer from 1983-1985 and spent most of that time stationed in West Germany. Back in the U.S., he graduated from Winona State University in 1987 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Sociology. Matt then obtained his Police Skills Certification through Alexandria Technical College and his first civilian police job was for the City of Alexandria in August of 1987. In 1994, Matt was hired by the Otter Tail County Sheriff's Office where he continued for 20 years, serving 10 years as a sergeant and the last four years as a Lieutenant. McGuire retired from a law-enforcement career in 2014.


Matt and his wife,Tasha, have eight children; The two oldest have graduated from Hillcrest, and two are currently enrolled here as students. Matt and Tasha have six grandchildren.


Matt is currently enrolled in Global University and is working toward his Masters Degree in Biblical Studies.

He appreciates the opportunity to teach a Bible Class at Hillcrest and looks forward to the interaction with students and faculty every day.
