Keep Up With Us Facebook Twitter A Free People's Suicide Lionel Rothschild's oath was altered in England through the help of Benjamin Disraeli. Disraeli is the only Jew to have served as Britian's Prime Minister. A firm believer in Jesus Christ, Disraeli was included in Os Guinness' timely book A Free People's Suicide: Sustainable Freedom and the American Future.  This week's Principal's Blog includes a lecture given by Mr. Guinness on his book and includes the rebirth and renewal of the Jewish, Puritan and American Founders as they sought to represent Christ in the world. Mr. Guinness' presentation is a good reminder and encouragement to us as we teach and train students to live a life of significance.  Read the blog and watch the video here>> Mr. Preston Instructs on Practical Insights For many students, a class with Mr. Preston makes Mondays better. A staple at Hillcrest for over 20 years, Mr. Preston's history and Bible classes are practical and insightful.  The short video to the left is a devotional led by Mr. Preston in his Book of Mark class. From the Desk of the President Hillcrest's music program has a time-honored tradition of excellence. This week President Brue highlights that tradition and also comments on some of the exciting updates around HLA. To read the entire blog entry form President Brue, and listen to a selection from the Hillcrest Choir, please click HERE>> Students for Life Club Offers School-wide Opportunity Hillcrest's Students for Life America (SFLA) club is participating in the 40 Days for Life campaign. As part of the campaign the school is offering a prayer vigil opportunity to the Hillcrest community on Sunday Oct. 14 and 28 from 3:30-8:30pm.  Hillcrest's SFLA club is offering a bus for parents and students to attend the prayer vigil at the Fargo Women's Clinic, which conducts weekly abortions. The evening will provide a time of prayer and singing with a time of debrief following the prayer time.  If a family would like to participate in either of these prayer vigils please email Wayne Stender (wstender@ffhillcrest.org) to communicate how many will attend.  Around the Castle Parent Prayer  Hillcrest parents, students and staff are gathering Sunday, October 7th for a prayer field trip to the Fargo Women's Clinic abortion center. The information is included above. Parents also meet to pray Wednesday mornings from 8:30-9:15am in the HLA reception room.      Athletics at HLA  HLA Guys Soccer and Comet Volleyball have games this week. Visit the calendar online to make plans to cheer on the Comets!        Night Fun at HLA  On Saturday, October 13th the Men's dorm is spending an overnight at the Jahr's farm. On Sunday, October 14th the Guys Dorm will take a dinner trip to Fargo, ND to visit HuHot and attend the Toby Mac concert.       Upcoming Events at HLA  Sunday, October 20th the Dorms are hosting a Cook-out and Movie night at the dorms for the high school. High school students, both on-campus and off-campus, are invited to attend the event which runs from 5:30-11pm.
