Bill Nye: Creationism Not Appropriate for Children

Bill Nye has a goal to make Science applicable. His popular TV series Bill Nye the Science Guy is considered a classic Saturday afternoon pastime that occupied most American 20-somethings a decade-ago. A recent video that has gained popularity through Youtube is shown above. It clearly points out his perspective of the world.

Bill Nye's attack on educating students in Creation is a boisterous attempt to stave-off the growing sentiment among many students that evolution's holes are inexplicable, making it a failed theory.

Watch the video and read the full commentary at The Principal's Desk.

    A Month of Prayer

In addition to parent prayer occuring Wednesday mornings from 8:30-9:15am in the Hillcrest reception room, Principal Isaac invites all faculty and parents who are available to join him in prayer each school morning through the month of September.

The parent prayer time occurs from 7:45-8am, allowing parents to drop their students-off at school, spend some time in prayer and head-off to work.

    Hillcrest Highlights

Hillcrest students have an incredible school experience. From meaningful classes with instructors who build mentor relationships to weekend activities that include rope-swings and steaks, the experience at Hillcrest is priceless.

At Hillcrest we strive to communicate to parents and other family members what life in the halls of HLA is like. We do this through a comprehensive photo and video archive that is updated periodically on our website. We encourage your family to huddle around the computer and watch the videos. These videos are designed to give you a quick overview of Hillcrest week-by-week. To see the videos please visit our Video Blog here>>

    College Planning

College planning can be stressful, especially for students who are graduating. We encourage families to take some of the stress out of the college planning process by discussing goals and aspirations for your students prior to their 11th grade year.

One tool you may want to explore is the BigFuture college planning tool offered by the College Board. The same organization that organizes the SAT test, The College Board has created a nice step-by-step tutorial for parents who have students in 8th through 12th grade.
