Angela Paulson

School Counselor

Angela grew up in a home where Jesus Christ was important, and she committed her life to Him at the age of 15. She graduated from Concordia College in Moorhead with degrees in English Secondary Education and Psychology. She then obtained her Master's in K-12 School Counseling with training in Trauma, Loss, and Crisis Response from NDSU. Her work experience prior to coming to Hillcrest includes teaching senior high English and school counseling for 20 years.

Angela considers it a privilege to be working in a Christian school setting where she can freely share the hope and joy that only Jesus can bring.

I am, as a school counselor, serving others in the midst of change, hurt, disappointment and joy, and this provides me with a unique form of ministry. Whether students are adjusting to school, transitioning to college, or experiencing social or personal challenges, I am available to walk alongside them. Sometimes, [these] problems are opportunities for God to show His power. A favorite scripture illustrates this so very well: ‘Consider it pure joy, my brothers, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith develops perseverance. Perseverance must finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything.’ James 1:2-4
— Angela Paulson

Angela is married to Mike Paulson and they make their home near Elbow Lake, MN. They have three grown children; Mikayla (Alex), Krista, and Bryce. She enjoys walks, biking, gardening and canning, reading, traveling, and canoeing in the Boundary Waters.

Mrs. Paulson is excited to be a part of students’ lives as they grow in their faith and discover the future paths the Lord has laid out for them.
