Joe Roers capped a 9-run explosion by Brandon/Evansville that broke up a tight game in the 6th inning with a grand slam to end Hillcrest's baseball season 14-3 in Evansville Tuesday evening. Teddy Wood went the distance for the Chargers allowing 8 hits and 2 walks while striking out 2. Kevin Castro took the loss, giving up the first 5 runs (3 earned) on 6 hits ins 4 innings of work.

Roers finished with a 3 for 4 night, 3 runs scored, and 5 RBI. Teddy Wood was 2 for 4. Ethan Wentzel led the Comets with a single and double and 2 RBI. No other player had more than one hit for either team.

"This game was somewhat symptomatic of the way we've played the last part of the season. We get guys on base but can't get the big hit or hits to put up a crooked number. In the field we make a key error that opens the door for a big inning. It was a disappointing ending to the season, but we had an exciting time and played some excellent baseball," was Coach Steve Undseth's final comment.  Hillcrest ends the season at 6-9.
