The Hillcrest/Pelican Rapids Comets boys soccer team defeated the East Grand Forks Greenwave, 3 - 0, Saturday in EGF traveling with the Comet Ladies for a double header.
The Comets first goal came eleven minutes into the contest. Morten Rekstendropped a corner kick back on the right side to Yung Hak Jang, who laid a nice cross to the far post. Senior Captain, Seoung Won Choi was there waiting with a nice header to the back of the net. Twenty nine minutes in, Soo Bin Kim took a nice ball from senior Captain, Josh Wolderich, up the right sideline and beat the defense, and the Greenwave keeper for a goal. Soo Bin scored again, six minutes into the second half on an assist from Asmond Rong. The Comets saw great defensive effort from senior captain Hector Lemus, Tae Gyu Park (Birthday Boy), and JD Antonsen.
Taylor Isaac, Comet Keeper was perfect on the day turning away three shots on net, and gathering several other loose balls and putting them ahead quickly adding to the Comet attack.
The Comets have a tough Conference match up at home on Tuesday against the visiting Bemidji Lumberjacks.
