The Hillcrest Boys and Girls Basketball teams have been working together to share Christ with people as part of a joint-team effort between the two squads. Morning Son Christian School is a local Christian gradeschool which Hillcrest partners with. The Basketball squads have been organizing a special gradeschool camp on Saturday mornings where the varsity players from both squads mentor the gradeschool players in basketball and life. The varsity players share testimonies and stories of Christ's work in their life as part of the local camp.
In addition to the gradeschool basketball players, the varsity teams have commited to chapel services at Morning Son. During the month of February the basketball players have visited Morning Son and have had a chance to pray with various students. In the picture above, Junior forward Taylor Isaac prayed with a student who had questions on who Jesus Christ is. During the chapel presentation Junior guard Mark Undseth invited the gradeschool students to seek out the varsity players following the service. The students pictured at this table sought out Taylor while other gradeschool students pulled in Mark Undseth and Junior forward Zach Nersten to pray and answer questions for them.
The Girls' Basketball team recently visited Morning Son to share the message of commitment and hard-work, a character-trait evident in their team. Following the service the girls gave high-fives to all students as they departed for lunch.
