A theology teacher strode to the front of the classroom, where he drew a heart on one side of the blackboard and a brain on the other. "The two are as divided as the two sides of the blackboard", he told the class: "The heart is what we use for religion, while the brain is what we use for science."
This excerpt was read as part of a discussion in Principal Isaac's Understanding the Times class this past week. The link above will take you to The Principal's Desk blog in the Hillcrest website. We encourage you to view the video and read the post. It will give you a bird's-eye view of the classroom instruction your student is receiving. This is part of the ongoing effort to enhance our communication regarding the Biblical education you're student is benefitting from in our classrooms.
I Scream, You Scream, We All Scream For Live-Stream
Thanks to the fund-raising efforts of the HIT Golf leaders, we have purchased equipment for a live-stream service for parents, friends and alumni to follow the on-going events at Hillcrest Academy. Hillcrest's Technical Department has been busy stringing cables and configuring the Hillcrest website to ensure quality video for you to follow your favorite Comet events throughout the year.
If you get a chance, make sure you thank Jason Walkup and Ryan Erickson for their meticulous attention to detail and ongoing hard-work to make the live-stream user friendly and an enjoyable experience for Comet fans to cheer on our students in the comfort of our homes, offices and even local Starbucks.

Doing the Right Thing with HLA
One of the ongoing tasks of Hillcrest is to enhance the worldview training students are receiving. As we do this work inside the classrooms we have also taken steps to encourage and educate parents in the comfort of their home.
The Doing the Right Thing series was created by the Chuck Colson Center for Worldview. A member of Hillcrest's staff is currently enrolled in a specialized training program through the Colson Center for Worldview and has arranged for a special simulcast training session for parents on Saturday, September 24th from 8:30am-12:30pm in the Hillcrest Chapel. Families are encouraged to register for the session here: /online-registration. Families unable to attend the event at Hillcrest are encouraged to attend the event with the ease of the internet by registering here: http://doingtherightthingevent.com/host-home
