The Longing for Structure

The tax-payer funded Public Broadcast Service (PBS) has quadrupled viewership with one fell-swoop of a hit TV drama called Downton Abbey. The video above echos the cry of Downton, to unite the social structure of the past with contemporary thinking today. 

In this week's Principals Blog we revisit a past article where we talked about the impact redeeming television can have on culture. The video link above documents a movement in Christian music to unite art and performance to call attention to the Creator while being creative.

School Canceled for Monday, January 6th

Rarely does the Governor of Minnesota exercise his authority to cancel school. However, when conditions are dangerous across the state he may choose to do so. That is the situation that occurred Friday morning as word spread throughout the state that Governor Dayton has canceled school state-wide due to dangerous weather conditions expected for Monday, January 6th.

Dormitory Director Craig Nersten has been busy during the Christmas break organizing student events for Hillcrest Academy. His work on the Boys' Dorm Ice Rink is one of the many tasks that has occupied his Christmas break.

HLA Today

As Hillcrest students look forward to reconnecting and growing in Christ during the second semester many will look back at some of the highlights prior to Christmas break. The Journalism class has been feverishly catching these memories and documenting them in the school newspaper for parents and students to reference.

Dormitories Open
Christmas Vacation is from December 20-January 5. The dormitories open at noon on Saturday, January 4. Classes resume Monday, January 6.
Sports Kick-off in 2014
