Hillcrest Commissions Teacher Mentor

Michele Foss grew up in Elbow Lake, Minnesota. 16 years of teaching experience, and mentoring by her mother who is an award winning teacher, gives Michele a classification as a master teacher by many who have witnessed her instruction in the classroom.

Michele is Hillcrest's new Teacher Mentor. The position is designed to provide support and instruction for Hillcrest's faculty as they communicate Biblical truth in the classroom.

Michele notes, "I know that God has instilled in me a desire and a gift to teach. I am called not only to teach a set curriculum, but to teach that curriculum through the lens of a Biblical Worldview." To read more of Michele's story, read her bio by CLICKING HERE>>

A Summer of Engagement

Hillcrest staff are taking a breather after a busy summer. Time on the road talking to prospective Hillcrest families has placed some staff members in some interesting situations.

One situation saw Marketing Director Wayne Stender speak to a Planned Parenthood fundraiser on the streets of Seattle. Wayne guest speaks occasionally for the Worldview classes at Hillcrest, bringing in his training from the Charles Colson Center for Christian Worldview. The encounter is detailed in the Principal's Blog and is a brief glimpse at how our staff and instructors practice what they preach in the classrooms. Read his discussion with the fundraiser HERE>>.

Hillcrest Offers New Calendar Solution

There are a lot of activities at Hillcrest. Sometimes these activities change and adjust to meet the needs of our diverse student body.

Hillcrest launched a new calendar solution to provide friends and family an alert mechanism in the event that their favorite activities are rescheduled. Subcribers can receive notifications via email or text, alerting followers to new events, rescheduling, or cancellations. Followers subscribe to alerts based on the activities they want. So, if you're a Basketball fan and love to follow the upcoming Varsity players, you can subscribe to the JV Basketball alert. If you're a parent and your daughter is in the drama club you can receive alerts on the practice times by subscribing to the drama group.
