In 2016, there’s no doubt we’re healthier. A report from the CDC says that a child born in the US today can expect to live to be 78.8--a record high. Diseases like polio and tuberculosis are practically unheard of. We are also wealthier, possessing far more physical comforts than any generation before us. Even with adjustments made for inflation, the average family is far better off financially than middle class families in 1916. The US Department of Education reports that 80% of Americans currently graduate from high school and more than a third of those go on to receive college degrees. As we consider these contrasts and conclude that we are healthier, wealthier and better educated, I have to ask two questions: Are we better off? and Has the Bible become obsolete in our time? Hans Holzner is a gamer. His 16:30 finish in New London, MN, propelled Holzner into the state meet. Pushing through pain and displaying resolve in running a more difficult, more hilly course with aggression, Holzner finished 22nd overall in the State with a 16:40 unofficial time. Chapels have been a highlight for many students this year, and President Egge's address uniquely united current Hillcrest students with President Egge, a 1957 graduate who walked the halls of Hillcrest 59 years earlier. Buffalo Wild Wings Trip
Each year the dorms load a bus of hungry students and venture to Buffalo Wild Wings for all you can eat Wing Wednesday. Students will go this Wednesday, November 9, from 4:30-9:30pm.
Football State Quarterfinal Game
November 11, at 5pm, the Football team will play at Husky Stadium on the St. Cloud State University Campus for the right to play at US Bank Stadium on Thursday, November 17.
Dorm Worship Night
Saturday, November 12 the dorms are hosting a worship night in the Hillcrest Chapel from 7:30-10pm
