Christian Education Offers Better Lessons in Tolerance

Students in public schools are receiving a miseducation in tolerance thanks to a new mandate from the State Department. President Barak Obama decreed schools need to grant unfettered access to school facilities for students who choose their gender. The act speaks against discrimination, calling for greater tolerance in how students self-identifying as transgender participate in school.

The move is seen as a lesson in tolerance. This tolerance holds stiff intolerance for opposing views. It cites the civil rights era and references Title IX for legal authority. A backlash from critics with a traditional view of sexuality is being cast as intolerant. What the mandate needs is an education in tolerance. Read the full article>>

NHS Speaker Lives Talk

When Pastor Kevin Foss walked on stage earlier this year he was unaware of the cancer in his body. His message outlining the four pillars of the National Honor Society (NHS) at the NHS induction ceremony called students to build four walls of faith. Kevin's words are resonating in the strength of Christ in the aftermath of Pastor Foss' recent surgery and road of cancer treatments he is facing. Read the full story>>

Board Names Interim

The Board of Directors appointed Rev. Joel Egge, former President of the Church of the Lutheran Brethren and former President of the Lutheran Brethren Schools, as interim president of Hillcrest Lutheran Academy. A search committee is meeting to conduct the search for Hillcrest's next president over the next several months. Read more>>

Steve Brue closed 25 years of faithful service at Hillcrest with a speech at the Alumni Brunch. The speech gave a picture into how Steve viewed his time at Hillcrest as a continuation of strong leadership at Hillcrest. Watch the video>>

Hillcrest is hosting a Basketball Camp through Reid Ouse Training June 6-9. Registration Info>>
Open Gym
Hillcrest's Athletic Department is conducting open gym for athletes Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday from 6-9pm. Please note that June 13-22 there will not be open gym because the gym floor is being refinished.
Hillcrest-Eleva Strum Basketball Camp

School Prayer Time
