The class of 1926 had a picnic to celebrate their senior year. Gathered on picnic tables they reminisced on their year, a year that changed their lives. This now tight-knit group of kids sat on picnic tables posing for a picture we view nearly 100 years later because God used a man to cast a long range vision for Hillcrest that held eternal significance.

Broen Draws to Humble Beginnings in Address 100 Years Ago

Today Hillcrest students are greeted with a welcome week. During this time athletic practices occur in the mornings, with evenings hosting services welcoming students. Faculty, staff, and friends of Hillcrest help welcome the students through song, testimony, and sharing spiritual insight that mirrors the days of E.M. School Theme Reflection

The story we are giving students this year will be like an old pair of shoes to some students, where there is a sense of comfort and security. For others, it will be a blister causing experience in breaking in a new sneaker to walk in the world. Pray for these students. Summer Lessons

"Only 8 people survived? No way!" The student's comment surprised me. We were at a Christian camp, the small group leader had his finger in his Bible, and this student didn't believe a word of it. His reference to Noah's ark was just the tip of the iceberg. I was brought in for answers. I wondered what truth he was hoping to get from me as I quietly shuffled in my backpack for my Bible, praying for confidence. READ THE FULL STORY>>


President Update

President Brad Hoganson gave the address below as part of his introduction to the staff at Hillcrest. Speaking to his time at Hillcrest where he gained a perspective that he has "never met a mere mortal," Brad draws from Acts 1 and 2 to give a small picture of what it means to give someone an eternally significant gift when they may be looking for something simple.
