The Comets shot 49% (24/49) from the field, hitting 43% (9/21) of their 3’s on the way to a 62-35 victory over the Rockets Saturday, January 10. The game marks another win for the Comets on their march to the post-season.
The Comets were led by Jake Isaac (25 points, 3 rebounds, 3 steals), Chris Tungseth (13 points, 4 assists, 4 steals), Evan Malmstrom (8 points, 4 assists). Tommy Thompson (8 points, 4 assists, 2 steals) and Kyler Newman (5 rebounds) provided a steady defensive front that propelled the Comets to victory.
"The Rockets came out and played well defensively the first half and controlled the tempo of the game," said Hillcrest Head Coach Gregg Preston. "The second half we had a more balanced offensive attack and pressured the ball a bit better."
Hillcrest (8-1, 4-1 LEC) will play in the second half of a girl/boy double header on Saturday afternoon at Park Christian School in Moorhead.
