Comet Football Closes Season with Eyes on Playoffs

"I was proud of the way the guys finished the season," commented Head CoachCharlie Brue of Hillcrest.  "With two defensive starters out, we had difficulty stopping a very good offense which featured hard running sprinkled in with a few long connections.Now with playoffs starting we hope we can get everyone healthy and make a good run for it.  Nathan Christenson, Jared Christenson and Chris Tungseth had great games for us on both sides of the ball.  I felt our passing offense picked up some steam in the second half."

Comets Close Season with Battle in Underwood

After coming off of such a great week with two wins, tonight was disappointing for our four seniors to end the season with a tough loss. Underwood is a talented team and they were a class act tonight recognizing our seniors with theirs for their senior night. It was nice to see our two teams coming together for that recognition in our Little Eight Conference, I have a lot of respect for Diane and her program.

Undseth Runs for 170 Yards and 4 TD's as Comets Top Hancock

Reggie Undseth picked up 170 yards rushing and found himself in the end zone four times on Friday night as Hillcrest Lutheran Academy recorded a 34-14 victory over the Hancock Owls.

The Comets had 385 yards of total offense, including 256 on the ground.  Jake Isaac completed 14 of 23 passes for 129 yards and one TD.  Cameron Crider was the leading receiver, catching 4 passes for 46 yards.

Storm Boys Blank Wolves 10-0 in 8A Playoffs

The West Ottertail United Boys Soccer Team defeated Walker-Hackensack-Akeley 10-0 Thursday, in the first round of the 8A Section Tournament.  The Storm now take on Alexandria in a Quarter Final matchup on Saturday at 1:00pm at Hillcrest Lutheran Academy. 

Kjetil Nielsen scored first with a header off a Vegard Torsvik corner kick at 4 minutes and 30 seconds.  Abdul Ahmed scored on a header at eight minutes, again, off a corner kick by Vegard Torsvik.  At 10 minutes, Kjetil Nielsen scored his second goal, with a one touch flick, off a pass up the middle by Thomas Isaksen.  Jordan Foss connected on a 30 yard unassisted BLAST at 12 minutes.  Abdul Ahmed scored his second goal at 13 minutes, off an assist from...

Boys Soccer Experiences Incredible Season

The excitement and hope for the HLA boys soccer team was like no other this year, especially since the boys broke the school record for goals scored in a season. Not only did the Comets hold an undefeated season, but their defense made it close to impossible for any opponents to score on them. As the victorious season came to a close, the Comets stood with a record of 14-0-1. This incredible record is made even more impressive by taking into account the season score tally.
