What to Expect

Hillcrest puts the Bible at the center of all learning goals and objectives. Students learn how Biblical principles apply to situations they face every day. At Hillcrest, every student participates in Bible instruction, daily prayer, weekly chapel services, scripture memorization, and fact memorization for future use.

At Hillcrest we offer:

  • A strong academic curriculum with integrated technology opportunities

  • Teaching and instruction through a Biblical focus through Classical Christian Education Curriculum

  • A positive, Christ-centered learning environment provided by an experienced Christian staff

  • Opportunities for students to live out their faith through ministry and service to the school and community

Faith Building

Our school program exists to see that the students that walk through our doors and into our classrooms have a Biblical sound faith that points them to Jesus Christ. Through study, students have the opportunity to understand God’s character more deeply and to apply that understanding to their everyday lives and world around them.

Developing Intellect

Hillcrest’s approach to Classical Christian education uses students’ God-given strengths at each stage of growth to guide learning. At the grammar stage, students accumulate knowledge through memorization. This stage provides an important foundation for higher orders of thinking. While all stages are present in each classical training phase, each stage is highlighted based on the student’s developmental stage.

Character Strengthening

Our school community fosters close relationships that opens opportunity to grow and mature as young adults, strengthening their character in their daily interactions with instructors and peers.

Our staff teach students to handle teachable situations with positive, Christ-like character. We address the attitude of the heart. Students learn that we all make mistakes and we are all forgiven children of God living under Christ’s grace.

Applying to Hillcrest

DSC_2594.jpg

Hillcrest considers each applicant as a potential member of our family. We take special consideration to how each applicant might strengthen or challenge the community at Hillcrest. As a distinctly Christian school, our student body is made predominately of families who take faith in Jesus Christ and faith-formation seriously. We do accept a small percentage of students (under 9% of our total student body) who may not have a faith tradition, but who display interest in learning about a Biblical perspective.

Student Application Process

Applying is easy using our Online Application. We encourage families to apply online as it simplifies submission and provides parents a tool for tracking online the status of their admission after their application has been submitted.

Application Fees (must be submitted with each student’s application):

  • Grades Preschool-6: There is a non-refundable application fee of $75

Step 1

Click the "Apply to Hillcrest" button below to create a profile and complete the application online.

Step 2

Placement tests will be administered for all grades (Preschool-12th).

Step 3

PS-5th Grade: Upon completion of the application and placement assessments, a Hillcrest representative will arrange an interview with at least one parent/guardian and the principal.

6-12th Grade: Upon completion of an application, your references will be emailed a reference form. Once all references have been submitted to Hillcrest and placement assessments have been administered, a parent and student interview will be arranged with the principal.

Step 4

Following the interview, Hillcrest Academy will contact the applicant to communicate the status of the application.
