323 Comet Speed and Acceleration Training

(Scroll Down for More Camp Options)

The 323 Summer Strength Training program will employ the Feed the Cats program. Feed the Cats is a speed-based training philosophy that focuses on maximizing athletic performance by prioritizing speed, recovery, and athlete confidence over excessive conditioning and volume.

Core Philosophy

The idea is simple: “Fast athletes win.”

Instead of exhausting athletes with long practices and constant conditioning, Feed the Cats emphasizes:

  • Short, high-quality reps

  • Full recovery between explosive efforts

  • Timing and tracking speed

  • Keeping athletes fresh and motivated

  • Reducing unnecessary fatigue and overtraining

Key Principles

  • Sprint at near-max speed often

  • Stop workouts before performance drops

  • Use competition and timing systems to make training fun

  • Build confidence through success and measurable improvement

  • Treat conditioning as sport-specific, not punishment-based

Overall Goal

Create faster, healthier, more explosive athletes who stay engaged mentally and physically while reducing injuries and burnout. It’s especially popular in football and track programs but has influenced training across many sports.
