Comets Close Regular Season with Milestones and Momentum

There’s plenty to celebrate as the Comets close out their regular season home season. Saturday’s tournament in Perham capped a weekend of excitement as the Lady Comets took home first place, defeating Perham in a tough championship match that went the distance, 2-1 (18-16 in the final set). But the biggest moment of the day came when Senior Ella Knutson recorded her 1,000th career dig, marking an incredible milestone in Comet volleyball history.

Knutson becomes only the second Lady Comet ever to reach this achievement, joining Mackenzie Foss (Class of 2021) in the elite 1,000 Dig Club. Knutson’s milestone reflects years of discipline, leadership, and passion for the game. Known for her fierce competitiveness and calm leadership on the court, Ella has been a steady force in Hillcrest’s back row, her hustle and heart inspiring her teammates game after game.

The celebration continues tonight as the first-grade Comets take center court to sing the National Anthem on Tuesday night at 7:15pm, marking a special moment that connects Hillcrest’s youngest learners with its seasoned seniors.

Cheer on the Comets and encourage the 1st grade class tonight at 7:15pm at the Student Activities Center.
