Maintenance Technician II

Job Summary

The Maintenance Technician assists in the day-to-day operations of the maintenance, grounds, and custodial departments. The position completes duties that may include maintenance and repairs of electrical, plumbing, heating, ventilation, air conditioning (HVAC), carpentry, painting, custodial, grounds upkeep, and other building systems.

Position Requirements

  • Reflect the purpose of the school; honoring Christ in your interaction with students, parents, and employees

  • Assist in providing an environment for the spiritual and education programs for students and employees

  • Evaluate systems, grounds, or facilities to determine maintenance or repairs that need to be performed; communicate needs to Maintenance Supervisor

  • Complete maintenance and repair work correctly and in a timely manner

  • Mentor students in the student Work Study Program; lead and teach students assigned to maintenance or custodial areas of study

  • Assist with grounds upkeep and custodial duties as needed

  • Assist with stocking and organizing custodial supply rooms/closets

  • Utilize the Maintenance Work Order Tracker

  • Complete assigned duties including cleaning, lifting, transporting of product and/or waste, and moving furniture and/or equipment

  • Assist with annual inspections and preventative maintenance checks

  • Assist in maintaining a system of building and grounds security, following building security policies

  • Remove snow or obstructions to building exits, loading/unloading areas

  • Maintain boiler systems to required standards

  • Follow Matthew 18 principles regarding questions, concerns, or problems

  • Perform other related and non-related tasks as assigned

 Education and Experience

  • High school diploma or GED

  • Two or more years of maintenance experience

  • Boiler License preferred, minimum 2nd Class C Engineer

  • Previous custodial experience is preferred

  • Previous experience with Google Apps and Microsoft Office is preferred

Physical Requirements

  • Walking, standing, and sitting throughout the day

  • Able to lift up to 40 pounds occasionally

  • Able to use ladders, kneel, bend, and reach overhead for short periods

  • Able to move safely over various terrain, between buildings, up/down stairs

Salary and Benefits

  • Hourly Rate: $16.50 per hour, 20-30 hours per week, part-time, year-round position
